Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Djibouti and the Federal Republic of Somalia (non-resident) H.E. Mr Mikhail Golovanov meets the Head of Somaliland, Federal Republic of Somalia
On December 24, 2020, H.E. Mr Mikhail Golovanov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Djibouti and the Federal Republic of Somalia, held a working meeting with Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, the leader of Somaliland which is a part of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
During the conversation, they exchanged their views on prospects for Russia-Somalia cooperation in different areas with a focus being put on building relations and mutually beneficial trade and economic ties between Russian and Somali regions.
The Ambassador Golovanov said Russia’s stance on the recognition of Somaliland remains unchanged. He confirmed that the Russian Federation is committed to unity and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
